A Clinical Study on Hallucinations of Schizophrenic Patients Hospitalized in Chronic Psychiatric Ward


Abstract
Author selected 129 schizophrenic patients hos. pitalized in Yong In Mental Hospital, and compared demographic data between schizophrenic patients with hallucinations and schizophrenic patients without hallucinations. To the patients with hallucinations, author studied the content of hallucinations, the subject of hallucinations, reaction to the hallucinations, and relation with delusions.
The results were as follows.
1. The incidence of hallucination in schizophrenic patients was 41.9%.
2. Auditory hallucinations were most frequently appeared, auditory with visual hallucinations _ next, and visual hallucinations least.
3. There were no significant difference in demographic data between schizophrenic patients with hallucinations and schizophrenic patients without hallucinations.
4. The contents of hallucinations were more frequently persecutory and concerning daily routine.
5. The subjects of hallucinations were more fre quently unknown people, other people, and¢¥ demon and religious object in order.
6. The reactions to the hallucinations were negat- .¢¥ ive adjustment in 35.2%, mixed adjustment itr, 27.8%, and no response in 22.2%, The Hallucinations were related with delusions in 57.4%.
